I like the contrast of movement (stroke angle) from the clouds to the ruins.  It really adds something to the painting.

I think the ruins have a certain resemblance to Neolithic monuments, the towers look a lot like large standing stones especially with the strong contrasts created between the reflected sunlight and the shadows.

 i wouldn't say that something's missing! I just think that some crenels in ruin ( do yo know the military medieval vocabulary?!) would look more realist. It's hard to me to mean what I want!

Romantic and poetic ruins.Perfect back lighting. The top of the walls could be a little more "ruined"?

Thanks. I agree with your suggestion; I tend to skip on many of the nuances when I work fast and it isn't until later (or when someone points it out,) that I see what I've missed. I still enjoy the immediacy of starting and finishing a painting 'all at once' (alla prima), so I guess I'll have to get better at it!
