While not a copy, I was trying for an overall effect that incorporated a similar palette and mood in the style of J.A. Toft and Wm. Turner. It's not until I attempt this kind of a piece that I really start to realize how difficult certain styles/techniques are and just how brilliant the artists were who pioneered these approaches. I love the genre and suspect I'll keep working in this vein for a while to see what all I can learn.
